Process monitoring, control and safety with wireless
Speaker: Stig Petersen, Reseach Scientist, Sintef ICT Mr. Stig Petersen has worked as a Research Scientist at the Department of Communication Systems at SINTEF ICT in Trondheim, Norway since 2002. His field of expertise is wireless communication, with special focus on wireless technologies for industrial applications. Lately his main research area has been wireless communication within the confines of the Oil & Gas Industry. From 2006 to 2009 he was part of a team working on wireless technology within the TAIL Integrated Operation collaborative research project between Statoil, ABB, IBM, SKF and Aker Solutions. He is currently the project manager of a large research project with Statoil, ABB, DNV, Kongsberg Maritime and SINTEF, investigating the use of wireless communication in process control applications. |
